Story

CASTELLO BANFI / TUSCANY Castello Banfi is a family owned estate in the Brunello region of Tuscany. Known in the 12th century as Poggio alle Mura, Castello Banfi is a rarety among Italian wine estates. The most gratifying of all its praises is the one of neighboring vintners who acknowledge Banfi's role in pioneering a new are in Brunello and bringing the wine world's attention to Montalcino. Wine Spectator Magazine have ranked Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino and the Riserva Poggio all' Oro Brunello di Montalcino in their top 10 wines of the year twice in the last three years.

Castello Banfi is one of the leading wineries in Montalcino. In the 1970s, the American family Mariani founded Banfi Winery in Montalcino, and also promoted Italian wine to Americans, opening up the American market for Italian wine and making a very important contribution. The winery consists of a large number of single vineyards, with unique soil conditions and rich marine paleontological fossils. At the same time, the winery uses special fermentation barrels made of wood and stainless steel to produce wine that is fine, soft and elegant.
