BORGOGNO Giacomo Liste Barolo DOCG 2018 ( JS94）

BORGOGNO Giacomo Liste Barolo DOCG 2018 is a classic, traditional Barolo from a single-vineyard (MGA) Liste, characterized by its strong structure and high aging potential. It's a Barolo with a robust structure, firm tannins, and requires long-term aging to open up.

Terroir and Winemaking: The vineyard faces south to southeast at an altitude of approximately 290–370 meters. The soil is rich in limestone clay marl, with some sand, which is conducive to creating a highly concentrated Nebbiolo with delicate aromas.

Traditional Long Maceration: Fermentation is done with native yeasts in cement tanks, followed by approximately 30 days of "cap maceration" and malolactic fermentation in cement. Afterwards, it is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 2 years and 8 months before being returned to cement tanks for further adjustment and bottling.

Aroma and Palate Characteristics:

Color: Deep ruby red with garnet edges.

Aroma: Ripe red berries (cherries, raspberries), black pepper, licorice, dried spices, plus a distinctive "incense/ash" note—Liste Garden's signature blend.

Palmistry: On the palate, it's tight and straight, with firm, fine tannins, pronounced acidity, and a strong structure. Currently leaning towards "accommodation and depth," it's better suited for medium to long-term cellaring, where it will develop more complex aromas of spices, leather, and forest floor over time.
