Domaine Les POËTE Toison D'or Blanc Sec 2018
Organic Method Wine Dry White 2019 French Dry White Wine
Guillaume Sorbe has 7 hectares of land spread over 28 plots, like many gardens, and he is an unrivaled goldsmith. In the Quincy and Reuil appellations of the Cher Valley, he makes wonderful white wines (Sauvignon Blanc) and red wines (Pinot Noir) that are delicious and mineral, rich and tense. Its exceptional quality has earned it the title of "Winemaker of the Year 2018" by French Wine Review and was ranked among the top ten best producers in the Bettane & Desseauve 2019 guide.
To escape the regulatory constraints of INAO, Guillaume Sorbe now prefers to label his wines under the generic name "Vin de France". This does not change their origin or quality. The review of the Revue du Vin France puts it eloquently: “No wine in the industry has achieved such a level of precision and substance. They are one of the most ambitious whites in the Loire Valley.
Toison d'or: Made from 100% Pinot Grigio white wine from the Alsace region, the result is a rich, smooth, delicate and spicy wine.
At the beginning, first and foremost is its precision, which leaves us with beautiful aromas of white pepper, bitter orange, grapefruit leaves, with a slight smokiness that completes this elegant aromatic bouquet. On the palate it is smooth, with balanced notes of coriander, aniseed jasmine, chlorophyll and apricot blossom, seducing us with its extraordinary finesse. The finish is surprisingly mineral and has a chalky and sharp feel.
