THE CONNOISSEURS CHOICE RANGE WAS CREATED IN 1968 BY VISIONARY, 'MR GEORCE' URQUHART, TO SHOWCASE SELDOM SEEN SINGLE MALTS WHEN MOST WHISKY WAS USED FOR BLENDS.

Over the decades, this pioneering range has featured more than 2,000 bottlings from almost

100 Scottish distilleries. Always non-chill filtered, these rare, single cask and small batch expressions have been created in relentless pursuit of perfection, using unique experience handed down through four generations.

A single cask 16-year-old Glenrothes 2007 bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail without colouring or chill filtration for their Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range.

This 2007 Glenrothes 16-year-old came from a single refill sherry butt that yielded 648 bottles at its whopping 62.7% cask strength – a result of Glenrothes filling their casks at full strength rather than watering their new make spirit down to the industry standard 63.5% filling strength.

Sherried Glenrothes really starts getting into its stride at this sort of age – this should be a splendid dram.

NOTES

AUTUMNAL SPICES complement STEWED FRUIT aromas and sweet HONEY. MORELLO CHERRY flavours combine with PEANUT BRITTLE and TART RASPBERRY. A medium-bodied finish with OAK and TOASTED ALMONDS.
