Description

Katsunuma is the first production area of Koshu in Japan located at the eastern end of the Kofu Basin.

The Katsunuma area is an alluvial fan, and the soil is widely distributed and well-drained, making it suitable for viticulture since ancient times. The characteristic intricate topography and complex soil create vines that exhibit a unique sense of place.

We insist on using grapes planted above 400m for Grace Koshu.

Koshu cultivated in high mountains and hilly areas such as Katsunuma, Hishiyama, and Fukasawa has a limited yield and rich flavor compared to plain areas.

In the vineyard, to reduce the impact of autumn rains, each bunch of grapes is shaded (umbrella) and picked at optimum ripeness.

These carefully cultivated and harvested grapes are refrigerated upon arrival at the winery and subjected to a long period of light pressing.

The winemaking process emphasizes a scientific point of view, without relying on technical prowess, and strives to express the individuality of grape varieties and Katsunuma's sense of place through in-depth knowledge of each region and plot.

Koshu is world-renowned as a wine that has won gold medals in the world's largest wine competition for five consecutive years.

Crystal clear bright pale lemon yellow with green undertones. The nose is rich and captivating, with fresh pear, white peach, honeysuckle, rosemary, clove and minerality reminiscent of stone.

On the palate it is smooth and dry. Vibrant acidity is persistent and strengthens the middle of the palate. The taste is like the aroma, and the wine finishes with a hint of umami.

A fine and refreshing white wine with a good balance between aromas and flavors.
