Michel Niellon Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint Jean Rouge 2018

Labeled by Parker as one of the World’s Greatest Wine Estates. His estate owns less than 6 hectares in total with holdings in Chassagne Montrachet premier cru vineyards of Clos St Jean, Champ Gain, Maltroie and Vergers plus grand cru ownership in Batard Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet.

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean (Rouge) bursts from the glass with aromas of plums, cherries, ripe wild berries, dried flowers and toasty new oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and ample, with lively acids and a long finish. This is another fine red from Niellon that's a sleeper of the vintage.
