杜克樂古堡雅馬邑來自法國雅馬邑區最古老的酒莊Armagnac Castarede家族所釀造的，酒莊創立於1832年，家族也是雅馬邑產區第一家合法登記的雅馬邑酒商公司。

酒莊擁有豐富的酒藏，幾乎可以稱為雅馬邑的博物館，窖藏豐富的單一年份雅馬邑酒桶，自1893年蒸餾的單一年份雅馬邑至今，獲得歷史上許多國家元首喜歡及收藏。

多年來，Castarede家族不只是把釀製雅馬邑技能傳承下來，甚至把這項古老傳統、藝術以及遺產在保存著。
酒莊最古老的品牌為Nismes Delclou杜克樂，將在法國歷上為法國運輸水路極具貢獻而著名的家族姓氏Nismes及其姻親家族姓氏Delclou，兩字合併後當作其雅馬邑的品牌名稱，極具歷史意義。
Castarede家族也擁有一間Château de Maniban古堡雅馬邑酒莊，建造於西元17世紀時，創立初期所釀造出來的雅馬邑，主要供應給當時法國國王路易十五享用，酒莊四週由三個葡萄品種的葡萄園所環繞：Ugni blanc、Colombard、Folle blanche。

雅馬邑與干邑的兩次蒸餾不同，雅馬邑主要是一次連續蒸餾。專家認為，雅馬邑比干邑地更富有花果的芬香，這主要歸功於獨特的雅馬邑一次連續蒸餾器。
其最大特點是，整個過程中，蒸餾出的酒精都和蒸餾前的白酒全面接觸，這是使雅馬邑比干邑更具花果芳香的最關鍵原因之一。
橡木桶的陳年使得雅馬邑的口感更加柔和，同時能增加複雜度，並帶來香草和香料氣息。
和干邑相比，雅馬邑的香氣更為突出，酒體也更加豐滿，尤其是年輕雅馬邑比相對成熟的干邑的酒體都要飽滿。

雅馬邑最典型的香氣有花香和蜜餞等，在口感上偏向粗獷辛辣，且比干邑更具鄉村質樸氣質。
雅馬邑白蘭地散發出的花果香味也不斷地變化，例如梨、李子、香草、榛果、核桃等等，香味變化很清晰，入口圓潤而不刺激，香醇持久不衰。
