OMAR Smoky and burnt aroma

The packaging design is inspired by the pattern on the inside page of the "Pakelang" album. This pattern symbolizes the singing after being tipsy, which travels through the mountains and rivers with the wind, as colorful as music, surrounding the beautiful land of Taiwan. The liquor is mainly made from high-quality bourbon barrels and peat bourbon barrels that are more than 4 years old, and peat new oak barrels are added to enhance the overall sweet and smoky tone. The light floral aroma, roasted sweet potato and longan wood aroma, combined with sugarcane and smoky taste, show an elegant light peat style.

Story

The album "Pakelang" was recorded jointly by the Amei ancient tune singing group "Jiang Jinxing and the Second Generation Malan Singing Team" and the "Chairman's Orchestra", and the designers Li Zhenghan and Yu Wei were responsible for the album's binding design. This album won the "64th Grammy Award for Best Album Package Design" in 2022, which is an important milestone in Taiwan's music history. The name of the album, "Pakelang," means a celebration after a good harvest or a work is completed in the Amis language. The album's design concept is inspired by the eastern coast of Taiwan, showing the imagery of the first-generation band leader Guo Yingnan and the Amis people singing with their heads held high, to present the atmosphere of the oriental islands full of vitality and rich musical elements.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the whisky factory at the Nantou Distillery, Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation has collaborated with the "Bagolang Buckron" album to launch the "OMAR Single Malt Whisky Series (Bagolang Limited Edition)". This series has three types: "OMAR Bourbon Floral, OMAR Sherry Dried Fruit and OMAR Smoked Caramel"; these whiskies are presented with different flavor characteristics, and the visual elements of the album cover provide inspiration for the packaging design, highlighting the diversity and richness of Taiwan's terroir.
