Winery introduction

Founded in 1824, Balmenach Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in the Speyside region. It has been in the hands of different members of the MacGregor family for more than a century and was bought by Inver House in 1998. Although the Balmenach Banromac distillery has changed hands several times, closed down and resumed, it still has a very long history of brewing, and the local area has excellent quality peat and abundant water sources, and the whisky produced is of strong quality , perfect for maturing in sherry casks. One-third of Balmenach's wine is sold to other spirits companies, and two-thirds are mostly used in the blending base wine of MacArthur's and Hankey Bannister, so there are few Balmenach single malt whiskys on the market.
