Pastourelle de Clerc Milon Pauillac 2015

2015 was slightly warmer than normal, but above all very dry (706 mm of rainfall compared to the annual average of 862 mm), especially between February and July, from bud break to veraison.

As a result, the berries remain small, which explains why the yield is rather low, although we hope for a normal harvest after flowering.

Above-average rainfall in August and September helped prevent the ripening process from stalling in vineyards already stressed by a lack of water.

Therefore, grapes mature at quite different rates from one plot to another, depending on the variety, the age of the vines and the terroir.

To ensure that each grape variety and each plot is picked at its optimum ripeness, the harvest period is the longest in living memory.

From the first batch of Merlot grapes on September 14th to the last batch of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on October 6th, it took a total of 23 days across our three estates.

The wine is deep red in color, exuding layers of black berries, licorice, pepper, honey money, and cedar-grade chocolate. It is dense and delicate, full and rich.

Red and black fruits to spices and incense, intense and complex, full-bodied structure. The tannins are round, soft and smooth, with a long and lasting finish.

The precision and luscious character of the wine on the palate confirm the excellence of this vintage.
