Tenuta di Passopisciaro Etna Contrada G Guardiola IGP 2018

800 m asl. An ancient domain at the heart of the estate that produces a rich, juicy wine with fleshy red fruit and smoky mineral tones. Selection of 100+ year---old vines.

First, people are surprised by the way the grapes ripen on the vine. When the grapes have been fermenting for three or four days, you start to see the style of the wine in time to help it develop. Each year brings wines we have never seen before, whose composition has nothing to do with the weather that year.

This is a rich ruby, with garnet tones. It presents a well-balanced red�fruited nose, raspberries and crystallised roses, echoed on the palate, adding a rather serious, grippy structure – something of a force with which to be reckoned.

"Contrada “G” Guardiola, 100% Nerello Mascalese, is planted at 800m altitude, on a lava flow from an eruption in 1947. The age of the vines is 100 years. "
