Louis Roederer Champagne is located in Reims, France. It has 506 acres of vineyards and only grows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The microclimate in the garden is quite stable, so its champagne can maintain a consistent level regardless of the year. The history of the winery can be traced back to 1776, and the winery was founded by Dubois and his son. It was not until 1833, when Mr. Louis Ludrer inherited the property from his uncle, that the winery was renamed Champagne Louis Roederer. It was under his leadership that Louis Roederer Champagne gradually became famous and began to brew champagne.In 1868, most of the Louis Roederer Champagne was exported to Russia and became the favorite of the Russian Tsar. Three years later, in 1876, at the request of Tsar Alexander II, the winery specially brewed Princess Louise Crystal Champagne for the Russian royal family. In 1917, the Russian October Revolution broke out, and Louis Roederer Champagne lost its biggest customer ever since.
Since 1924, the winery has re-produced crystal champagne. The extremely fine winemaking process and flawless quality make this wine very expensive, possibly one of the most expensive Champagnes in the world. Princess Louise Champagne and Crystal Champagne are still the royal champagne of the British royal family, so it is not difficult to see its prominent position in the eyes of western aristocrats. Crystal champagne is wrapped in a golden yellow plastic paper, which can only be opened before drinking. Because the bottle of crystal champagne is clean and transparent, unlike other champagne bottles that are green or brown and cannot block the sun's ultraviolet rays, an additional protective film is needed.
Today, Louis Roederer Champagne is one of the few family wineries still operating independently. It is currently in the charge of Mr. Jean-Claude Ruzod, who is the owner of the famous Camille O'Neill Ludrell. grandson. Camille took over the winery from 1932 until her death in 1975. Camille is almost a household name in France, not only because of her tough management style, but also because she launched one of the most outstanding champagne on her racecourse, Jamin champagne.
The winemaking method of Louis Roederer Champagne is more flexible than that of other Champagne houses. In some vintages, the estate does full malolactic fermentation, but in others it does it only partly, or not at all, depending entirely on the winemaker's analysis of the grapes. The winery's winemaking equipment can adjust its own temperature and is impossibly clean. All the high-quality aging in the winery - the essence of crystal champagne, is preserved in wooden barrels, making the champagne more full-bodied and more intense.

The NV Brut Premier is a gorgeous wine that stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of wines in its price range. Apparently, it is quite possible to make great Champagne that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Ripe pears, smoke, spices, dried flowers and herbs are some of the many nuances that emerge from the glass. The Brut Premier shows lovely mid-palate depth and fabulous overall balance. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon has done it again. This is a fabulous Brut Premier.
