Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rose 2012 Burt

Madame Clicquot invented the first vintage champagne in 1810, and in 2012 Veuve Clicquot announced the brand's 66th vintage.

The Vintage Rosé 2012 blend is made with 13% red wine, entirely from Bouzy Pinot Noir.

Unique to the 2012 is the addition of 11% of the wine aged in large wooden barrels (foudres), bringing strength and aromatic intensity. The oak-aged wine acts as a spice in the mix, bringing very light woody, vanilla and toasty notes.

Deep rose in color, it opens with aromas of sweet red fruits, strawberries and morello cherries.

An intense nose of noble tannins follows, velvety in contrast to the spicy saffron and pepper of the Vintage Rosé 2012.

Powerful and rich on the palate, entrance and clarity.

Pair with lobster, abalone duck and langoustine.
