Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008 Plénitude 2

Plénitude is Dom Pérignon’s way of describing the different stages of maturity of the same vintage champagne. P1 refers to the earlier release stage, while P2 represents a later stage reached after extended ageing, where flavour, texture, and complexity all become more developed.

2008 was an outstanding, cool-climate year in Champagne, with slow ripening that gave the wine strong acidity, structure, and ageing potential. That is why the 2008 P2 is often described as a “long-distance runner” of champagne: it does not rely on immediate flamboyance, but instead unfolds gradually through structure, tension, and depth on the finish.

It shows aromas of citrus, orange peel, pear, white flowers, toasted hazelnut, brioche, minerality, and a subtle smokiness. On the palate, it is energetic, while also displaying a creamy, silky texture. Overall, the style combines a fresh structural frame with mature layers, and the finish is often very long, with a pronounced chalky or saline character.
