Description

The Santenay appellation, south of the Côte de Beaune, with Chassagne-Montrachet, produces excellent wines, and the premier crus vineyards of Les Gravieres, near the border with Chassagne, are the best grapes in the appellation One of the gardens.

This Girardin Pinot Noir vine is 45 years old on limestone clay soils and the grapes are hand picked and screened in the vineyard and winery before vinification. Aging takes place for 14 months in mostly used wooden barrels with only light filtration before bottling.

The result is an exceptionally pure, ripe and clean wine that is silky smooth, balanced and elegant.

Aroma : Intense red berries and red cherries with salty, oaky and earthy notes.

Palate : Intense and vibrant, with ripe tannins and a long finish
