Description
Paul Pernot Bourgogne Côte d'Or 2020
Paul Pernot Bourgogne Côte d'Or 2020 comes from France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, and is the entry-level Bourgogne Blanc from Paul Pernot, yet it shows classic Puligny character with fresh acidity, floral and fruity notes and clear minerality. The wine comes from vines planted in 1975 just outside Puligny-Montrachet; although it is a Bourgogne label, it is vinified with the same rigor as the higher-level wines, using old barrels to add texture without masking the fruit. The 2020 vintage is described as bright, concentrated and fresh, with a touch of ripe fruit but clear mineral lines, making it a great introduction to white Burgundy.
Vinification & Style
Paul Pernot Bourgogne Côte d'Or is produced in France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, from 100% Chardonnay, mainly from old vines planted in 1975 just outside Puligny-Montrachet. Fermentation and ageing take place in old French oak barrels, with about 5% new oak, adding texture and structure without dominating the fruit. The ABV is around 13%, giving a white Burgundy style that is fresh and structured, with concentrated fruit, minerality and crisp acidity, making it very food-friendly.
