Chapuis & Chapuis Bourgogne Aligote Elevage Long 2019
Vanilla, buttery nose is a promise of the silky, yet dry, palate to come. It combines a quality clean palate with a riveting sense of purity and vibrancy. We recommend serving this chilled (half an hour in the fridge). This bottle would pair well with a roast chicken or nut roast.
Describe
Brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume, rooted in Aloxe-Corton, decided to create their own Domaine in 2009: Chapuis Frères. Based in Pommard, they produce wines under two different labels, Chapuis Frères (cuvees classic) and Chapuis et Chapuis (cuvees with no added sulfites).
Romain, the younger brother, who previously worked as a flying winemaker and eventually settled back in Burgundy, brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to the Domaine. He has established strong relationships with esteemed producers from regions like Jura and Champagne, exchanging knowledge and expertise. This network of connections allows Romain to continuously refine his winemaking techniques and stay at the forefront of innovation.
In addition to their exceptional wines, Romain has also ventured into crafting artisanal beer. This unique offering should not be missed, as it showcases his creativity and passion for exploring different realms of the beverage industry. The attention to detail and dedication to quality that characterizes their wines is also evident in the craftsmanship of their beers.
In the sky-rocketing Burgundy market, where prices seem to decouple from quality, Romain is producing some of the best value-for-money Burgundy wines we have ever tasted. Furthermore, his connections with renowned producers and his venture into artisanal beer highlight his commitment to pushing boundaries and offering diverse and exceptional experiences to wine and beer enthusiasts alike.
