Chateau La Mission Lalande-de Pomerol 2019

The name "La Mission" dates back to the Crusades, when knights passing through the Pomerol region on their way to the Mediterranean would stop to pray at the Mission Cross, which still exists on the property today.

Château La Mission's vineyards in Lalande-de-Pomerol have always belonged to the Garde-Lasserre family, which has also owned Clos René and Moulinet-Lasserre in Pomerol for generations. Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines are located on the southwestern edge of the appellation bordering Pomerol, planted on excellent terroirs of loess and iron clay, 40-year-old vines are carefully cared for (hand-picked) to produce wines with ripe fruit aromas, Silky, full, alluring and youthfully accessible.

A solid ruby color. Aromas of plump red fruit, undergrowth and a hint of mint, a touch of eucalyptus, round and smooth on the palate. The middle palate is rich, fresh, pleasant and lingering. Good saltiness focuses on the finish and is satisfying.
