Cloudy Bay Te KoKo Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Cloudy Bay breaks the rules of winemaking by wild fermenting and aging in old French oak barrels to create a sophisticated style of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Choose a Sauvignon Blanc from Te Koko, from the Rapaura, Renwick and Brancott subregions.

After the grapes have been lightly pressed and left to rest for 24 hours, the juice is poured directly into French oak barrels (8% new), where a slow and steady fermentation takes place, initiated by indigenous yeasts.

The wine ages in barrel for 15 months. Careful cellar aging creates Te Koko's unique texture and acidity, and the resulting wines are delicately balanced.

The nose is tangy with white peach, pickled citrus and a hint of the tropics.

The palate is expressive and lively, with a balance between ripe stone fruit and citrus intensity.
