🥃Glenallachie 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 10🥃

Our first bottling of GlenAllachie 10 Year Cask Strength happened by accident. In 2017, when reviewing the 2007 and 2008 stocks, our Master Distiller Billy Walker was very pleased with the balance and depth of the samples,He immediately decided to add a more youthful expression to our core collection.

The 10th batch of GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength is here! Each edition attempts to demonstrate the impact of cask management and in this case, master distiller Billy Walke selected Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks to be married with spirit maturing in red wine barriques and medium toast/medium char American virgin oak barrels. The resulting liquid was then bottled at a cask strength of 58.6% ABV, without added colouring or chill-filtration, and boasts plenty of sweet spice and dark fruit.Under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker, we have implemented a philosophy of wood innovation,sourcing the very best casks from acros the world and constantly monitoring the maturation journey to deliver an exceptionally crafted single malt.

Nose: A sliver of redcurrant alongside nougat, teak, crème de cassis and cappuccino. A good portion of stewed cherries and a whiff of almonds too. Then a decent amount of sandalwood, some cigar boxes and resin.

Taste: This is seemingly all about the cask. Arriving on cracked black peppercorns, cloves, a touch of ginger and some mocha. Also peach pits, some cherry liqueur and eucalyptus. Somewhat vinous.

Finish: Medium to long. The oak spices linger, but I also get a few drops of cherry syrup and muscovado sugar.
