Lagavulin 12 Year Old 2020 Special Release Cask Strength

Diageo once again launches 12 year old Lagavulin single malt as part of the special Lilice series. The 2020 Special Edition Lagavulin 12 Year Old is fermented in American oak barrels and is full of smoke, although there's also plenty of cooked sweets and sweet spices in it.

Nose:

A touch of lagavulin, plus sweetmeat poached with pears, iodized brine, orange oil and turf. As time passes with the glass and a drop of water, the smoke becomes more apparent.

Palate:

On the palate, this is sweeter than you'd expect for a medium-weight wine, and the smoke is more pronounced. The pears feel more and more delicious, the oranges become more and more delicious, and there is a mild earthy taste.

Finish:

Medium-length dry seaside smoke drifts in wisps.
