Description
Matthieu Godme-Guillaume Champagne Village V.V.V Premier Cru
Champagne V.V.V matures in selected French oak barrels and ageing on its lees for at least 15 mohiths before dégorgement, with a dosage of 4 g/I (Extra Brut). An elegant Champagne with a fresh and fruity aromatic profile, with a fine citrusy grapefruit acidity enhancing notes of pear, green apple, ripe stone fruit, vanilla and nuts. The palate is straight, with a crisp minerality and lingering length.
Matthieu Godmé-Guillaume took over in 2019 the management of the family Domaine of his mother, Sabine Godmé, located in Verzenay, in the Montagne de Reims. The estate covers 5.35 hectares spread over the villages of Villers-Marmery. Verzy and Verzenay, with 3.50 hectares planted with Chardonnay and 1.85 hectares with Pinot Noir. The vineyards, with an average age of between 30 and 40 years, are at full capacity.
Deeply committed to respecting the environment, Matthieu Godmé-Guillaume adopts sustainable practices, using only organic fertilisers and rènouncing the use of herbicides and insecticides. Even in winemaking, his approach is as natural as possible: the musts ferment with indigenous yeasts and the wines undergo neither filtration nor clarification. In the cellar, the wines are mainly aged in selected French oak barrels, a stylistic choice by Matthieu to enrich their character and complexity. In addition, reserve wines are kept by Cru, preserving the unique characteristics of each terroir.
This wine may contain natural sediments, but this does not alter the quality of the wine in any way. Open 10 minutes before serving. Do not drink it cold, preferably around 10°C.
