Michele Chiarlo Nivole Moscato d’Asti 2024 is a classic sweet white sparkling wine from Michele Chiarlo in Piedmont, Italy. Renowned for its delicate aroma and refreshing taste, it embodies the quintessential style of the Moscato d’Asti DOCG appellation.
Nivole 2024 is made from 100% Moscato Bianco grapes sourced from the hilly area surrounding Canelli, considered the most suitable region for this variety. The white sandy soils here are derived from ancient marine deposits, and the southeast-southwest-facing slopes provide ideal sunshine and ventilation. The wine is made by gently pressing whole bunches of hand-picked grapes using air pressure. The juice is fermented at low temperatures (approximately -2°C) to preserve the fruit aromas, and microbubbles are naturally generated in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, resulting in Nivole's signature soft, effervescent style.
This wine boasts a bright pale straw yellow color and offers intense aromas of white flowers, peaches, and apricots, with hints of citrus and tropical fruits. The aromas are layered and fresh, showcasing the floral and fruity fragrance and lightness characteristic of the Moscato variety.
Nivole 2024 is light and delicate on the palate, with silky, slightly creamy bubbles and a gentle, non-cloying sweetness. The palate is dominated by peach, apricot, kiwi, and lemon, with a pleasantly refreshing acidity and a touch of minerality on the finish.
Michele Chiarlo named this wine "Nivole," meaning "cloud" in the Piedmontese dialect, to evoke its lightness, softness, and ethereal qualities. It is a classic and iconic example of Moscato d'Asti.
