Sarget de Gruaud Larose 2017 is the second label of Gruaud Larose, belonging to the elegant, easy-drinking typical Saint-Julien Left Bank style.

Basic Information:

Region and Positioning: Saint-Julien, Left Bank of Bordeaux, France. A second wine of Château Gruaud Larose, bottled using younger or selected wines from the estate.

Grape Variety (Approximate): Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot, small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The 2017 vintage has approximately 60% Cabernet as a base.

Alcohol Content and Style: Approximately 13–13.5% alcohol, medium-bodied, refreshing, and delicately lined, not heavy.

Flavor and Palate:

Aromas: Red and black fruits (red mulberry, blackcurrant), plum, dried vanilla, with hints of tobacco, cedarwood, and spices, with fresh floral notes.

Palate: Medium-bodied with fine tannins and vibrant acidity. On the palate, it offers notes of red and black fruit with hints of spice and light oak. The style is refreshing with a touch of savory saltiness, rather than a sweet jammy character.

Finish: Medium length, with aromas of red fruit, oak, and a hint of minerality. Overall, it's smooth, well-defined, but not overpowering.
