Diageo, a long-standing wine merchant, has once again crossed the boundaries of Scotch whisky this year, bringing together the best single malt Scotch whisky to launch a Special Releases series called "Legends Untold".
Carefully curated by Diageo Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson, the new series selects eight different brands of whisky for their uniqueness and legend, and the smell, taste and appearance of each is closely linked to this year's "Legends Untold" theme.
The new series has aroused the curiosity of many whisky lovers. Dr. Wilson said: "The mysterious charm of this year's series is that it shows the original style of the distillery. We draw inspiration from each whisky to reveal new layers, depth and essence of each flavor, and then reveal their legends."
For this special series, the brand invited illustrator Ken Taylor to draw a graphic-led design for each bottle, and captured the traditional essence of each local Scottish distillery inspired by the myths, flavors, casks, bottles and packaging. Each bottle is printed with its own QR code, linking to a "multi-sensory experience" of distillery legends and stories, leading you to experience each legend.
The color is very light gold.
Flavors of creamy malt, peat, fresh homemade custard, unripe pear, white grapes, mint mixed with the seaweed and brine that Talisker is famous for. The palate is simple, juicy sweet, then another wave of thick peat, more herbal and organic than smoke, brine and a hint of orchard fruit. The finish evolves with the other notes, from brine and salt to pear and pepper, with the smoke still lingering on the palate. A great choice for Islay lovers.
