White Horse Extra Fine Blended Scotch Whisky

A historically rich and widely recognized Scotch whisky produced by Diageo in Scotland. The brand’s origins date back to 1861, when James Logan Mackie first produced this whisky in Edinburgh. The whisky is named after the famous White Horse Cellar Inn in Edinburgh established in 1742. White Horse is known for its long history and continuous heritage in whisky making, with the old Extra Fine edition especially favored by collectors and experienced drinkers. Its traditional blue label is the classic impression many people have of the whisky.

This version of White Horse is renowned for its classic and unique blend, reflecting the depth and complexity imparted by the rich first-fill European oak sherry casks, releasing rich layers of dried fruit and warm spices.

Aromatically, the old edition has notes of chocolate, malt biscuits, and a mild sweetness of red wine. The palate is balanced with a long, lingering finish.

One of the charms of aged whisky is its vintage; thus, the condition of labels and bottles may not be perfect and can vary. Most old bottles use cork stoppers made of semi-permeable fir wood, which is flexible but becomes brittle and fragile after decades of contact with the whisky. An “Ah So” opener can be used to carefully twist out the cork.
