Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2019 (JS94)

The Leflaive family has resided in the village of Puligny Montrachet for centuries and it is now home to Maison Olivier Leflaive. With it’s variety of 1er Crus and a shared portion of Grand Crus Le Montrachet, Bienvenue-Bâtard Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachet, the terroir of Puligny is second to none. Each year Leflaive produces close to a dozen unique cuvées from these world class Chardonnay vineyards.

Terroir: Olivier Leflaive’s village level Puligny Montrachet is sourced from 21 separate plots throughout the appellation. The unique characteristics of each plot combine in the bottle to provide a wine of great richness, complexity and age ability.

Vinification: The lots are hand harvested and sorted at the winery and then undergoes primary and secondary fermentation in barrel and is aged for a total of 12 months in on its lees in 20% new oak. Following a gentle fining the wine is bottled and rests in the cellar for a short period prior to release.

Very elegant and refined on the palate with many nuances, wet stone minerality on a long lemon finish. While rich and soft in texture, this white wine is also lively. With acidity, flavors of apple, lemon, vanilla and baking spices achieve a lingering finish.
