This exceptional Highland single malt showcases the distillery's signature unpeated, elegant spirit, elevated by maturation in custom-made, first-fill Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks from Spain.

Distillery Background & Craftsmanship

Founded in 1833, Glengoyne Distillery is uniquely situated at the crossroads of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands. It is renowned for its exceptionally slow distillation process, officially recognized as one of the slowest in Scotland. This deliberate pace preserves a richer, smoother, and more refined flavor profile, free from peat smoke. The distillery's core style emphasizes malty sweetness, citrus, honey, toffee, and intricate sherry cask aromas.

Spirit Characteristics & Tasting Notes

This specific release, Batch #004, is matured exclusively in first-fill PX sherry casks. Compared to the standard 12-year-old expression, the PX casks impart a much more pronounced sweetness, dried fruit, and dark fruit character.

Aroma: A rich and inviting bouquet of brown sugar, raisins, figs, and dark fruits, elegantly intertwined with dark chocolate and the warm, spicy aroma reminiscent of cinnamon rolls.
Palate: Full-bodied and intensely flavorful, delivering layers of candied fruit, toffee, and sweet spices, balanced by the distillery's signature smooth, malty elegance.
Finish: Long, warming, and deeply satisfying, leaving lingering notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a gentle, sweet oak spice.
