Overview

A good percentage of whole grape in the maceration gives this Auxey red a delicate encapsulated burst of cherry fruit. The Auxey terroir and tannic structure on display, and the ensemble is well-structured and juicy in youth.

Terroir: "Les Hoz" in Auxey Duresses, south-facing, deep white limestone soil.

Vinification: The old vine and young vine sections are vinified and aged separately, 60-85% de-stemmed for the younger vines and 100% de-stemmed for the older vines, ambient yeast fermentation in concrete tanks with foot punch-downs, aged for 12 months in barrels (up to 15% new), blended and aged for an additional 2 months in tank.

Auxey-Duresses' "Les Hoz" is more than just a wine, it is a story written through the vines. Agnès Paquet, heir to the Burgundy terroir grape-growing tradition, embodies all the nobility of this vineyard in every bottle of her wine.

Subtle floral notes intertwined. Mesmerizing aromas of white flowers, acacia and hawthorn evoke the rich aroma of the Orsay-Doures terrine. On the palate it is elegant and refined, with flavors of white fruits such as pear and peach intertwined with mineral nuances to create a harmonious taste full of the character of the terroir. The finish of this wine is extremely long lasting. Minerality is the hallmark of great Burgundy wines, prolonging the taste experience and leaving a mark that attracts new tasters.
