🇯🇵Akkeshi Akkeshi Cold Dew SEKKI Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2020🥃Limited: 15000 bottles

The Japanese Akkeshi Distillery, which was completed and put into operation in 2016, is a very young whisky distillery. Its founder, Keiichi Toita, is also the owner of Kenten Co. Ltd., a food importer in Tokyo.

Toita is a veteran Islay peat whisky fan. In recent years, he found that high-quality Islay whisky has become increasingly difficult to find in Japan, so he decided to open his own peat whisky distillery.

Upstart Japanese whisky, Akkeshi Distillery started operation in 2016. Until the third quarter of 2020, Akkeshi announced that it will launch 24 different styles of 700ml whisky with the theme of the twenty-four solar terms.

Among the 24 whiskys, there will be Single Malt and Blended. Three to four whiskys will be released every year. The entire project is expected to be completed in 6 to 8 years. The first is Single Malt named "Hanlu", which will be launched at the end of October 2020, with a limited number of 15,000 bottles

Cold Dew has a peat content of 30ppm, which is in line with its Islay-style positioning. This work is made of malt liquor matured in bourbon barrels, sherry barrels, wine barrels and mizuna barrels, with an alcohol content of 55%.

This wine has aromas of strawberries, oranges, and apples, and a taste of citric acid, butter, and white pepper, as well as the sweetness of chocolate.
