Atsushi Autumn Equinox | The Final Chapter of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms

In August 2026, Atsushi Distillery concludes its Twenty-Four Solar Terms series with "Autumn Equinox." The Autumn Equinox is one of the "two solstices and two equinoxes" in the Twenty-Four Solar Terms, symbolizing the point where day and night are nearly equal in length and the transition from summer to autumn. Starting with "Cold Dew" in October 2020, Atsushi released one new distillery approximately every three months, culminating in "Autumn Equinox" which completes all 24 distilleries, officially ending the series after approximately six years.

5+ years old, 55% peated single malt—Autumn Equinox marks the end of Atsushi's six-year journey through the solar terms and a summary of the Hokkaido terroir.

"Autumn Equinox" uses Hokkaido barley as its core ingredient and is aged in Hokkaido Mizunara barrels; the official description emphasizes the Atsushi style with its peat, sea breeze notes, and citrus sweetness.

Aroma: Sweet honey cake notes, citrus aromas of orange, saffron, lime, and lemon, accompanied by brown sugar and candied summer orange.

Palmistry: Orange is the dominant note, with lemon and lime providing bright acidity, and peat and spiciness unfolding at the base.

Finish: Mild spiciness of ginger and white pepper, tangy lemon and lime, a slightly bitter grapefruit-like finish, and a syrupy sweetness.
