anCnoc Rascan is a lightly peated Highland single malt from the Knockdhu distillery, labeled 11.1 PPM, belonging to the "everyday-drinking smoky" category.

Basic Information

Region: Highland (anCnoc / Knockdhu distillery)

Peating Level: Malt 11.1 PPM, lightly peated, primarily offering a gentle smokiness, rather than a heavily chemical or Islay style.

Flavor Description

Color: Pale gold/Vintage gold

Aroma: Initially, sweet honey, green apple, fresh orange peel, and lemon peel, followed by a clean peat smoke and a slight earthy note.

Palmistry: On the palate, sweet vanilla, maltose, and a thin layer of smoke; the mid-palate reveals old leather, a touch of spice, and charred wood, but overall, a fresh fruity flavor dominates.

Finish: The finish is light and clean, with a hint of salty smoke and citrus peel. The smoke lingers on the tongue and lips, but is not overpowering.
