Ardnahoe 5 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 1 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 60.9%

Ardnahoe 5 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 1 is the first 5-year-old Islay single malt bottled at ABV strength from the Ardnahoe Distillery. 
Matured entirely in a first-fill bourbon barrel, it features sweet fruit aromas with a peaty, sea-breathing smokiness.

Distillery: Ardnahoe Distillery (Islay, the ninth new Islay distillery)

Vintage: 5 years (first batch, ABV strength)

Tank Strength: 60.9% ABV, natural cask strength, uncooled, no caramelization.

Casks: Matured entirely in a first-fill bourbon barrel.

Bottling Date: Bottled in 2025, a limited small batch release.

Flavor: Aroma (Nose): Salty sea breeze (coastal brine), earthy peat, rich cocoa powder/chocolate.

Palate: Orchard fruits such as apple and pear, combined with vanilla and herbal tea notes, followed by a salty caramel sweetness; full-bodied and oily.

Finish: Long and smoky, with hints of lemon and other citrus acids, finishing with dry wood smoke and spice notes.
