The Scotch whisky brand "Ballantine's" was founded by George Ballantine in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, in 1827. In 1863, the method of blending malt and grain whisky of different years to make blended whisky developed successfully. Three years later, Ballantine successfully transformed his business into a professional brewery. The name "Ballantine's" gradually became popular occupies a pivotal position in the spirits market. Until 1895, Ballantine's Scotch Whisky was appointed by Queen Victoria as the British royal wine; in 1906, it became the designated wine supplier of Prince Edward. In 1986 and 1994, he was twice awarded the British Royal Medal for his outstanding achievements in foreign exports.

Ballantine's was awarded the Royal Medal by the King of England in 1938. The totems of the four elements of earth, water, fire and wood in the medal show the four unique characteristics of Ballantine's. 100% whole wheat, 100% pure mountain spring water, 100% distillation and 100% aging process in oak barrels, which represent the harvest of the land, convey the legend and glory of Ballantine's century-old history through the derived meaning of the Royal Medal . To this day, every bottle of Ballantine's whisky adorns the medal.

Because of its consistent elegance, softness, balance and sweetness, Ballantine's is firmly ranked the second largest brand in the world. Ballantine's is not only the number one selling whisky in Europe, but also ranks first in the sales of older products in Asia.
