Description
Blank Canvas Anthem Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021
Blank Canvas Anthem Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard in Gibbston, the coolest subregion of Central Otago, delivering an elegant yet powerful cool-climate Pinot style. The 2021 vintage shows pure, plush red berries, fine-grained tannins, savoury dried herb layers and a long, focused finish, approachable now with 10+ years of cellaring potential.
Winemaking & Style
Anthem Vineyard sits in Gibbston Valley, Central Otago’s coolest area, with 21-year-old vines giving high acidity and aromatic complexity.
Hand-picked fruit, fermented in open-top tanks with a proportion of whole bunches to build spice and herbal complexity.
Aged 11 months in French oak barriques (around 35% new), bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve texture and site expression.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Medium ruby-red with a bright garnet rim.
Aroma: Red cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, plum, dried herbs, rose petals, subtle smoke and oak spice.
Palate: Medium-bodied with fine but energetic tannins leading first, carrying savoury dried herb and saline notes, then layered by ripe red fruits; bright acidity drives a long, elegant, slightly tea-like and spicy finish.
