BORGOGNO Giacomo Cannubi Barolo DOCG 2018

Borgogno Cannubi Barolo 2018 is a classic Barolo masterpiece that embodies the essence of terroir and is highly regarded by collectors and enthusiasts, showcasing the unique terroir of the Cannubi vineyard. Borgogno owns approximately 1.3 hectares of vineyards in Cannubi, using only 100% Nebbiolo grapes and adhering to classic traditional winemaking techniques.

Cannubi is one of the oldest and most renowned vineyards in the Barolo region, situated at an altitude of approximately 270-320 meters on a south-facing slope. The soil is primarily a mixture of limestone clay and sand, giving the wine a unique structure, elegance, and aging potential.

Flavor and Characteristics: The wine is a deep ruby red with garnet highlights.

The aromas are rich and complex, with notes of red cherry, plum, rose petals, spices, licorice, and cocoa, blended with hints of smoke and herbal notes.

The palate is firm and structured, with fine, rounded tannins, crisp acidity, and aromas of vegetal and earthy notes. The finish is long, showcasing elegant power and balance.

The overall style is balanced and complex, combining the depth of traditional Barolo with modern, easy-drinking smoothness.

Aging and Serving Recommendations: It has strong aging potential. Decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended. It is best enjoyed from 2025 onwards, allowing you to appreciate its complex evolution over time.

It pairs perfectly with beef stew, roasted lamb chops, mushroom stew, and mature cheeses, highlighting its rich layers and structure.
