Bruno Giacosa Nebbiolo d'Alba Vigna Valmaggiore 2022（JS 95 RP 93）

This is a distinguished single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the renowned Valmaggiore vineyard in the Roero region of Piemonte, Italy. The vineyard is known for its sandy and pebble-rich soils and steep slopes, resulting in grapes that produce an elegant and refined style of Nebbiolo, often compared to the finesse of Burgundy wines. The vines are around 44 years old, contributing to the wine's complexity and concentration.

The wine undergoes 22 days of fermentation and maceration in stainless steel vats, complete malolactic fermentation, and 14 months of aging in French oak to deepen its structure and complexity. It represents a pinnacle in Giacosa's range, highlighting both the unique terroir of Valmaggiore and the winery's meticulous craftsmanship.

This was warm yet nuanced, producing a wine with a bright ruby color and a bouquet rich in aromas of rose, red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, violet, and white pepper, along with hints of spice and minerals. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, chiseled tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, flavorful finish. It balances the gravitas typical of Giacosa wines with elegance and freshness, making it approachable now while also promising excellent aging potential.
