Background Information

Salon is one of the very few producers in the Champagne region that produces wines from a single vintage, a single grape variety, and a single Grand Cru village. All Salon wines are from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in Côte des Blancs, using Chardonnay to express the purity, tension, and long aging potential of the chalky terroir.

The 2007 vintage was released around 2019, undergoing a long period of lees aging before being disgorged. It has an alcohol content of approximately 12% and a dosage of approximately 7 g/L, exhibiting a delicate and dry style, rather than an extremely low-sugar one.

Salon Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs 2007 is a rare vintage from the legendary Champagne producer Salon, made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru. This wine exudes aromas of lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, green apple, white flowers, smoked tea, hazelnut, and brioche. On the palate, it is finely bubbly with bright acidity and a chalky minerality that is highly expressive. The mid-palate reveals pear, citrus, and a smooth, creamy texture, while the finish is dry, savory, and long. Awarded 96 points by Robert Parker, 97 points by Vinous, and 99 points by Wine Enthusiast, this is a top-tier Blanc de Blancs that combines purity, depth, and long aging potential.
