Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle is located in the Bordeaux Saint-Emilion (Saint-Emilion) production area in France and is one of the Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe. The English name of the winery comes from a priest named Balstard. A stone tower that still stands in the center of the winery - La Tonnelle is considered to be one of the oldest buildings in the Saint-Emilion region. It was once used for observation and observation, but now stands quietly in the middle of the vineyards of Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle , has become the symbol of Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle.

The winery has a very long history, dating back to the 15th century. The famous French poet Francois Villon once praised the wine of Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle in a poem. To witness this historical praise, the winery printed this poem on its wines on the wine label.

The vineyard of the winery is strategically located on the slopes of the famous Saint-Emilion highlands, covering an area of 10.6 hectares. The soil in the vineyard is composed of clay and limestone, and the average age of the vines is 35 years. The vineyard is 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery uses the traditional method of brewing wine, and the wine will age for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels with a ratio of 50% new barrels before bottling.

Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle is one of the best classified growths in the Saint Emilion appellation. Since the establishment of the Saint Emilion appellation, the winery has been rated as Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe. Its wines have won the favor of many wine lovers for centuries. The real wine, Chateau Balestard la Tonnelle, is very elegant and is a typical fine French wine. It is of high quality in terms of fineness, combination of oak and fruit, and balance. The annual output is 55,000 to 60,000 bottles, and it has appeared in the French Presidential Palace, Parliament, and Congress. It is a state banquet wine.
