Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier Canberra 2021 is a classic Shiraz-Viognier from Australia's Canberra region, earning a high score of RP97 for its Cool Vintage elegance and depth.

Clonakilla winery is located in Murrumbateman, in a cool climate with granite soils. It is a blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier, with 13.2% ABV, sealed with a screw cap.

The cool La Niña vintage allows for long and slow aging, with aging potential up to 2040+.

Flavor Characteristics:

Aromas: Raspberry, rose petals, white pepper, and Chinese five-spice spices, accompanied by lavender, thyme, and rockfruit blossoms; light and lively.

Palmistry: Medium-bodied, with fine, silky tannins supporting layers of red and blue berries, woodland, and minerality. Fresh acidity and elegant structure,

with Viognier adding aroma enhancement and a smooth texture. Finish: Extremely long and persistent, with notes of cloves, chocolate chips, and salt, finishing precisely.

Serving Suggestions: Decant for 1–2 hours, serve at 13–15°C in a large-bellied glass; pairs well with roast duck, game, or spiced red meats, utilizing the delicate tannins and floral and fruity notes to enhance the complexity. Enjoy elegantly now, and age even more luxuriously.
