Courvoisier Cour Imperiale Grand Cru Cognac 1970's

Originally established in Paris, in the French suburb of Bercy in 1835, Emmanuel Courvoisier started a wine and spirit company with Louis Gallois, then the mayor of Bercy. Originally, Emmanuel and Louis would act as traders for the best cognacs of the region. Eventually the two decided that the only way they could guarantee the very finest cognac was relocate to the region and become producers themselves. The 200-year-old crafting process has not changed since Courvoisier's establishment in Bercy.

Courvoisier Cour Imperiale is a 1970’s release for the Asian market, Grande Cru Cognac in a remarkable golden bottle. As Courvoisier was often enjoyed at the Royal Court in Tuileries this bottle has been named ‘Cour Imperiale’ to commemorate and indicate this was indeed the favorite Cognac of Napoleon III.

Part of the charm of aged Cognac is its age, therefore the condition of the labels and bottles will not be perfect and may vary from one bottle to another. Most old wines use corks. This semi-permeable cork wood is flexible, but after decades of contact with wine it becomes brittle and easily breaks. It can be slowly turned out using an "Ah So" bottle opener.
