Description
Domaine Barmès-Buecher is located in Wettolsheim, about 5 kilometers southwest of Colmar in Alsace, near the foot of the Vosges Mountains. 
The winery has practiced biodynamic farming since 1998 and received certification in 2001.

The winery currently owns approximately 17–18 hectares of vineyards, encompassing seven terroirs, three of which are Alsace Grand Cru. Planted with Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Sylvaner, Auxerrois, and Pinot Noir, the vineyards fully showcase the varietal diversity of Alsace.

The winery's philosophy is to cultivate and vinify each plot separately according to its soil, slope aspect, and microclimate, 
ensuring that each wine retains its distinct terroir character.

Rosenberg Terroir
Rosenberg means "Rose Hill" and is an important lieu-dit for the winery. The soil is mainly clay limestone with gravel and sandstone elements. 
This terroir allows Gewurztraminer to exhibit rich spice, candied fruit, and good structure, rather than just thin floral aromas.
