Description
Domaine Barmès-Buecher is located in Wettolsheim, about 5 kilometers southwest of Colmar in Alsace. The winery has practiced biodynamic farming since 1998.

The winery currently owns approximately 17 hectares of vineyards, encompassing seven terroirs, including lieu-dit grapes such as Rosenberg and Clos Sand, and three Alsace Grand Cru grapes: Hengst, Pfersigberg, and Steingrubler.

The winery's philosophy is to produce wines separately according to the soil, climate, and environment of each plot, allowing each wine to express a unique terroir character; its white wines are renowned for their clarity, length, complexity, and aging potential.

Rosenberg Terroir
Rosenberg means "Rose Hill," covering approximately 5.81 hectares. The soil is primarily sandstone clay and limestone, with a north-/northeast slope and deep soil layers.

This terroir gives the wines a rich and generous character, while also maintaining excellent tension, minerality, and delicate bitterness; for Riesling, it provides refreshing acidity, chalky minerality, and aging structure.
