"The 2020 Viré-Clessé Charleston is the most structured, concentrated wine in the range, mingling notions of crisp orchard and stone fruit with scents of clear honey, white flowers, beeswax and mint in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied ample and satiny, it's layered and multidimensional, with impressive depth at the core, racy acids and chalky grip. Derived from the Guillemot family's oldest parcel of vines (dating back to 1918), it's built to age."

Domaine Guillemot-Michel is an iconic winery with deep roots in the local area. The wines it produces are of excellent quality. Not only do they often receive high scores from wine critics, but their high-quality and affordable wines are also loved by wine lovers.

In 1985, Pierrette Michel took over the family winery from her father and ran it together with her husband Marc Guillemot, and renamed the winery Domaine Guillemot-Michel. The winery has been using biodynamic farming methods since 1992 and is a pioneer in the area, having been certified in 1997. The current vineyard covers an area of about 6.5 hectares, mainly planted with Chardonnay. The oldest vines were planted by Pierrette's grandfather during World War I. The average vine age is about 60 to 65 years.

Well-known wine critic Jasper Morris once said that he visited the winery for the first time in 2020 and was immediately shocked by the quality of the wine, "This helped me understand Viré-Clessé a lot." Jasper Morris also believes that Viré-Clessé provides excellent wines in a variety of different styles, such as exquisite, pure, complex and affected by noble rot. Especially in the Quintaine region, especially in master wineries such as Domaine Guillemot-Michel, you can easily find elegant and charming wines.
