Domaine Michel Noëllat Introduction

Vosne-Romanée: A Century-Old Legacy: Founded in the 19th century by Félix Noëllat, the estate is located in Vosne-Romanée, a renowned village in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. The family is related to the Jayer family, the "God of Burgundy" Henri Jayer, through marriage, making them a long-established and highly prestigious winemaking family in Burgundy.

Six Generations of Heritage and Modern Innovation: Developed by Ernest, Henri, and Michel Noëllat, the estate features an ancient vaulted stone cellar built in 1980 using gravity-fed irrigation. Currently, it is managed by the sixth generation, Sébastien Noëllat (responsible for viticulture and winemaking), and his cousin, Sophie Noëllat (responsible for operations). The winery has introduced a modern cellar equipped with 40 temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving pure fruit aromas while showcasing an exquisitely refined and elegant modern style.

A distinguished heritage: The winery manages approximately 23.5 hectares of vineyards, including Grand Cru vineyards such as Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux, 
as well as several Premier Cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Terroir and characteristics of the 2022 vintage:

Hautes-Côtes de Nuits high-altitude terroir: The vineyards are located on high slopes (approximately 350–400 meters) behind the Côte de Nuits. This high altitude results in significant diurnal temperature variations and a cool microclimate, while the limestone marl soils impart Chardonnay with bright, crisp natural acidity and pure chalky minerality.

2022 Golden Vintage: 2022 is an exceptional vintage for Burgundy, boasting both abundant ripeness and excellent balance. Ample summer sunshine ensured ideal grape ripeness, while the cool microclimate at high altitudes perfectly locked in fresh acidity, resulting in a pure style that is full of fruit aromas yet without any heaviness.
