Domaine Ricardelle de Lautrec Lionel Boutie Biodynamie Pinot Noir 2024

An organic/biodynamic Pinot Noir from the Languedoc region of Southern France, specifically from the IGP Pays d’Oc. It's a small-production wine, characterized by its juicy fruit aromas and light, easy-drinking character.

Winehouse and Region

Winehouse: Domaine Ricardelle de Lautrec, located in Coursan, Languedoc, has been family-run for four generations and is currently managed by Lionel Boutié.

Certifications: Organic (AB & Ecocert), with some wines also certified biodynamic Demeter, emphasizing minimal intervention and the purity of the fruit flavors.

Winemaking and Techniques
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir, partially destemmed and post-fermented. Winemaking: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by approximately 14-15 days of skin contact. The pressed wine is then added back to the free-run wine, and the wine is aged in cement tanks. Approximately 20% is aged in oak barrels for about 12 months to increase structure and complexity.

Flavor Characteristics:

Color: Bright ruby ​​red with cherry-like hues.

Aroma:
Dominately red fruits such as strawberry, cherry, and redcurrant; fresh and juicy.

With decanting, fresh fig, subtle spices (white pepper), and a slight leathery note emerge, adding complexity.

Palmistry:

Light to medium-bodied with refreshing acidity, fine and soft tannins, and a smooth finish.

Focusing on juicy red fruits, with hints of spice, leather, and pepper, this wine has a natural, rustic, and easy-drinking character.

It pairs well with light to medium-flavored dishes such as cooked meat platters, roast spring chicken, grilled pork chops, tomato and herb pasta, tortillas, and baked mushroom dishes.
