Ferrero Barolo Classico Extra Vecchio 1968

Notes

This refined and elegant Barolo wine has remarkable aromatic complexity, with smoky notes of vanilla and tobacco. This is a wine that will age in the cellar for many years.

Specialty Wine

Barolo is made primarily from the Nebbiolo grape and can be considered one of Italy's greatest wines. The vineyard is located in the highlands and its soil consists of calcareous marl, magnesium and manganese in the northwest and iron in the southeast. In the same area we find two styles of Barolo. On the one hand, there are modern Barolos that are fruity and soft, with tannins matured in new oak barrels; on the other are classic Barolos, which are dense and tannic, often delayed in bottling for drying. In general, Barolo wines are known for their very dark color and significant aromatic complexity. These refined and elegant wines have smoky notes of creamy vanilla and tobacco.
