Glenallachie 2011 11 Years Cuvée Cask Finish is a fun and conversation-worthy sweet cask blend Speyside.

Basic Information

Vintage: Distilled in 2011, bottled in 2022, approximately 11 years old.

Alcohol Content: 54.9% (close to cask strength), typically unfiltered.

Aging: Initially aged in ex-bourbon oak, then transferred in batches to PX sherry, Madeira, and Port casks for a Cuvée-style finish.

Aromas: Honey, caramelized sugar.

Ripe orange peel, apricot, dried tropical fruit.

Raisins, raspberries, slight wine sweetness, and a touch of spice.

Palate: Full-bodied with an oily feel, the initial taste is of honey, toffee, cinnamon, ginger, and orange peel, layered with the molasses sweetness of PX, the apricot/tropical dried fruit notes of Madeira, and the red fruit and grape skin notes of Port.

The higher alcohol content provides a slight spiciness; adding a small amount of water will better balance the fruit sweetness and spice of PX/Madeira.

Finish: Medium-long, with notes of honey, spice, orange peel, and a touch of nuts/cocoa powder; overall, a sweet and warm finish.
