Description
🥃Glenmorangie Signet Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky🥃
Signet is the culmination of a lifetime of experience from the creators of Glenmorangie Whisky, a blend of some of Glenmorangie's oldest and rarest whiskys, aged in Designer casks. Signet begins with our prized chocolate ale, brewed only once a year in our exclusive Giraffe High Stills.
This superb Glenmorangie is created from the union of whiskys made from two unique types of malted barley: the single estate Cadboll variety and malted chocolate barley, the latter of which is widely known as the basis of craft beers.
Signet is distilled twice in Glenmorangie copper pot stills by a team of 16 distillers known as the Tyne Sixteen. It was then matured in custom native American oak barrels before being bottled at 46% proof and without chill filtration.
While it doesn't say how old it is, the Highland single malt is said to contain some of the distillery's oldest and rarest ingredients, ranging from 35 to 40 years old.
Beautifully packaged and beautifully arranged, Glenmorangie Signet is an exceptional whisky of style and taste never seen before. Glenmorangie's Master Whisky Distiller, Dr Bill Lumsden, described it as the culmination of a "lifetime of experimentation and innovation".
The hard work paid off, with Signet winning Whisky of the Year that same year, while Lumsden was named Distiller of the Year at the 2016 International Whisky Competition.
This version takes its name from the ornate square design that adorns most Glenmorangie bottles. The seal itself originates from the Hilton at the Cadboll Stone, a Pictish artifact dating to around AD 800.
The creaminess of Bourbon, the sweetness of Sherry and the spice of raw charred oak.
The palate is smooth, with flavors of espresso, spice and dark chocolate, mellowed in a smooth butterscotch.
