🥃Glenmorangie Tusail Private Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky🥃

Since 2010, Glenmorangie has released what it calls a private edition bottling each year. In 2014 it was Glenmorangie Companta and in 2015 it was Glenmorangie Tusail Private Edition.

"Tùsail" is Gaelic and translates to something like "original" or "origin". The name was chosen because the barley variety uses 'Maris Otter', a very old barley variety that was not grown commercially until 1960.

Varieties of barley are known for having a particularly strong flavor. Unfortunately, barley varieties were superseded by higher yielding barley varieties and were forgotten.

Thanks to Dr Bill Lumsden Glenmorangie, the Maris Otter barley variety has been revived in the form of Glenmorangie Tusail Private Edition Whisky.

Bourbon casks combined with Maris Otter barley - which, by the way, handcrafted gemältze - get the whisky's unique flavour.

Aromas of earth, malt, biscuit and toffee nuts.

The palate presents nutty caramel, sweet malted barley, ginger, dates, ginger, cinnamon, molasses. The famous Glenmorangie orange, pear and peach geräuchterte fruity aromas are also added.

The finish is long and full. For the bottling of Glenmorangie Tusail Private Edition, the alcohol is reduced to 46% ABV whisky and not chill filtered.
